On Friday, July 31, the Columbia County Detention Facility was host to a luncheon in honor of one of their retiring members. Ms. Sharon Parker, the administrative secretary for the Detention Division of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, retired with more than 28 years of service.
On Wednesday, July 29, in a ceremony attended by family, friends and Sheriff’s Office personnel, Sheriff Mark Hunter swore in a new CCSO member.

On Tuesday, July 28, at approximately 10:30 am, a Columbia County Deputy Sheriff was involved in a shooting at 4204 SW Pinemount Rd in the unincorporated county area.
On Thursday, July 23, in a ceremony attended by family, friends and Sheriff’s Office personnel, Sheriff Mark Hunter swore in two new CCSO members. Mr. Chris Douglas was sworn in as a Detention Deputy and Ms. Ashley Stalvey took the oath of office for civilian employees.
