Sergeant Howard Bulthuis, Detective Chris Parker, Detective Marcella Mayo and Analyst Yvette Tyler were given the awards for 2016 cases where they preformed their duties in a manner that brought great credit on them and the agency.
A Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Deputy saved a child, using CPR, who had fallen in a pool and was unresponsive Thursday, October 27th. The 22 month old baby was flown to a hospital in Gainesville where she is in stable condition.
Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested a Lake City man who has been on a multi county burglary spree. Over a two month period, 14 burglaries were committed by the suspect who used the same method and burglary tools. Five of the 14 burglaries were outside of Columbia County in Suwannee, Baker, Lafayette, and Union Counties.
