On Friday, October 11, 2013, The Chevron gas station at 7692 SW Highway 27 in Fort White was robbed at gunpoint. The unknown suspect stole approximately $3,500, before fleeing the store on foot. No injuries occurred during the robbery. The suspect is a white male approximately 6’1” to 6’2”, with a medium build. The suspect was armed with an unknown caliber large frame black revolver and was last seen wearing a white winter cap with tassels, a light color bandanna over his face, black long sleeve shirt, black pants, and blue gloves. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, and Florida Department of Corrections responded to the scene with K-9’s to search for the suspect. The search by K-9 officers led to an area where the suspect was believed to have fled in an unknown vehicle.
