On Monday, October 7, 2013, a woman was arrested for a burglary after Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Detectives found stolen property in her yard and home.
Detectives developed information that Brandy Colwell was a suspect in several recent burglaries that occurred in the Lake City Country Club. Upon arrival at Colwell’s residence, stolen property was immediately identified in her front yard. Colwell provided Detectives consent to search her residence and stolen property from several cases was located.
Colwell was charged with a single burglary and theft charge, but awaits in the Columbia County Detention facility on a no bond, pending at least 9 other burglary charges. During an interview with Detectives, Colwell admitted that her 13 year old child was with her during a burglary where a victim fired a gun as they fled the scene.
