Two Arrested after Meth Bust
On August 14, 2012, the Columbia County Multi Jurisdictional Task Force executed a search warrant at 167 S.W. Fantasy Glen. Detectives arrested the two residents on multiple charges.
The detectives encountered very strong chemical odors when they entered the home. Task Force detectives believed that an active or very recent clandestine methamphetamine laboratory was in the home. A young child was found sleeping in the living room of the home. Detectives immediately called for EMS to evaluate the young child for exposure to the hazardous chemicals. Detectives also encountered an adult male suspect in the kitchen on the home and an adult female suspect hiding in the garage. Everyone was evacuated from the home until detectives could determine if it was safe to be inside.
Detectives discovered materials that were actively processing clandestine methamphetamine. One of the vessels was located in the children’s play area of the home. Detectives seized multiple items of paraphernalia that are commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine. In addition, finished methamphetamine was also seized.
Detectives arrested the two occupants of the home without incident. Both were transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility and booked on multiple charges. The child located in the home was transported to a local medical facility for evaluation and placed in the custody of a family member.
