Two Arrested on Meth Charges
On Wednesday, June 20, 2012, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office arrested two persons on methamphetamine charges.
At approximately 1:00 pm, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a tag violation. Deputies discovered items in the car that were consistent with the clandestine manufacture of methamphetamine. Deputies found lithium batteries, pseudoephedrine and a container of muriatic acid in the car. It was learned that the two suspects had just purchased the pseudoephedrine at a local pharmacy.
The driver of the vehicle, Chaylen Ortega had a warrant for her arrest for Violation of Probation. She, along with the passenger, Keith Wheeldon, were arrested without incident and booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility.

Charges: Possession of Listed Chemicals with Intent to Manufacture a Controlled Substance.
Bond: $5,000.00

Chaylen Nichole Ortega, 12/17/1989
150 S.W. Fritz Glen, Lake City, FL
Charges: Possession of Listed Chemicals with Intent to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, Violation of Probation (warrant)
Bond: NONE
